Press report: ETA – Technical Approval as wood fasteners

We are ETA!

With us, what’s inside is what’s on the outside!

Various staples with European Technical

Technical Approval as wood fasteners.

The European Technical Approval (ETA) is a generally recognised proof of the technical suitability of a construction product within the meaning of the Construction Products Regulation in the member states of the EU.

The DIBT in Berlin (Deutsches Bauinstitut) granted the Schotten-based company PREBENA Wilfried Bornemann GmbH & Co. KG as the first manufacturer to receive certification after all requirements and test results were met.

PREBENA building staples thus possess all the properties for permanent use in building, prefabricated house and timber frame construction.

Staple certification for wire Ø 1.52 – 2.0 mm up to 170 mm length in the versions: RF = rust and acid resistant, material no. 1.4301 SV = heavily galvanised, 12 μm galvanisation.

  • Europe-wide approval
  • More safety for the user/processor
  • Unlimited validity of the approval
  • Fixed head pull-through parameter for wood fibre insulation materials
  • Specified service life of the staple = 50 years
  • Specified materials for the clamp substrate and the connected component (OSB, sheetrock, wood fibre boards, etc.)
  • Staple leg lengths when connecting wood fibre insulation materials with WP staples up to 170mm
  • Staple back width from 8.8 – 30 mm possible

The current product range with ETA approval includes PREBENA types L, Q, WD, WP and Z. Other types are available on request.

The construction staples are produced in the factory in Schotten and can therefore be offered and sold as “Made in Germany”.

In addition to the certified staples, PREBENA offers a range of tools for use in the relevant industries.

It includes all pneumatic nailers for quick and easy processing of ETA staples such as:

  • Modules for stationary use in industrial production
  • Mobile modules for the installation of large-area substructures
  • Pneumatic nailers with automatic release system
  • SlideSystem for setting the staples at precise, regular intervals

The construction staples can of course also be used with the pneumatic nailers from the standard range.
